Surgery Avoided
While spending the winter in Florida, I twisted my knee golfing in late February. An MRI later confirmed a torn meniscus—an injury that often leads to surgery. Upon returning to Collingwood in mid-April, I was referred to Ken Brown by my massage therapist, Tamara, who had experienced a similar journey. Tamara had suffered a torn shoulder and found lasting relief through Ken’s shockwave therapy treatments, after having no success at another clinic that also offered shockwave.
Based on her personal success, I decided to begin treatment with Ken. Over the course of 12 sessions, paired with a customized strengthening program using low-load band exercises, my knee steadily improved. By late May, I was pain-free and back on the golf course.
What I’ve learned is that while shockwave therapy is offered at many clinics, the clinician’s skill and training are essential to getting real results. Ken, who was trained in Switzerland and now teaches best practices to other therapists, provided outstanding care that exceeded my expectations.
I’m deeply grateful to Tamara for the referral and to Ken for helping me avoid surgery and return to doing what I love.
